Title: | Children play therapy. | Authors: | Tan, Weihao. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Visual arts and music::Design::Product | Issue Date: | 2010 | Abstract: | This project aims to bring both therapy and play into design. The Children therapy furniture will encourage the public to focus its attention towards the possibilities of bringing therapy, a specialized and unfamiliar field in its own right, into our very own homes. The entire set of furniture is a collection of specially designed play shapes that has specific therapeutic function which enables the child to explore and experience play as a therapy. In this report, the project is presented in chronological order from inspiration, exploration, and ideation, to concept development of my product. The design is backed up by research done in the study of multi-sensory disabilities, analysis of case studies of children suffering from Sensory processing disorder, as well as relevant statistics and ergonomics. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/39465 | Schools: | School of Art, Design and Media | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
