|Title:||Peer-to-peer system for RSS feed dissemination||Authors:||Sasaka, Sonny Budiman.||Keywords:||DRNTU::Engineering::Computer science and engineering::Information systems::Information systems applications||Issue Date:||2010||Abstract:||RSS is a file format for describing a list of news. It has become more and more widely used nowadays as the world needs a way to get news faster. For a popular RSS feed, a huge number of subscribers downloads that feed from a server periodically. With this current client/server architecture of RSS feed dissemination, this huge number of downloaders makes the server load very heavy and consumes a lot of bandwidth. This project proposes a way of disseminating RSS feeds in peer-to-peermanner, which aims to spread the responsibility of a single server to be distributed among the peer-to-peer network members, thus reducing the server load and bandwidth, while still providing timely updates to the network participants.||URI:||http://hdl.handle.net/10356/39763||Rights:||Nanyang Technological University||Fulltext Permission:||restricted||Fulltext Availability:||With Fulltext|
