Abstract: The goal of this thesis is to study the algorithms for optimization of cellular mobile networks, based on analyzing the factors that affect the cost and performance of mobile networks. The job includes various aspects such as classifying the service area, determining the number of cells, locations of cells, sizes of cells, shapes of cells, positions of base station and the parameters at base station (e.g., the transmitted power, the antenna height and antenna gain). Lastly, the author proposes a combinatorial optimization algorithm for channel assignment for cellular mobile communication systems.
