Title: Sequential michael addition/cyclisation : synthesis of multi-substituted naphthalenes.
Authors: Wang, Stephanie Qiu Mei.
Keywords: DRNTU::Science::Chemistry::Organic chemistry::Organic synthesis
Issue Date: 2010
Abstract: Naphthalene derivatives have been found in many pharmaceuticals and luminescent materials. Herein, we report a tandem Michael Addition/Cyclisation utilizing aminocatalysis and Lewis acid catalysis to synthesize useful naphthalene derivatives under mild conditions. The Michael addition can work for a range of aldehyes, including aromatic and aliphatic ones.
