Abstract: Synchronous machine stability studies have been a subject of interest for many years. Much of the work developed has been based on steam- or hydro-turbine generating units. The subject of cogeneration plant modelling has already been covered in the past but mostly from the thermal and energy point of view, whereas less work is available for use in power system stability studies.
