Abstract: Nowadays bibliographic management software plays an important role in the research area. However it has yet to support interconnection among the users of the software to share their references. Peer to peer model is one popular proposed technique to handle the issue of lack of collaboration. The project aims to integrate peer to peer model intto JabRef application, an open source bibliography reference manager. The final goal is to maintain the availability of data due to unpredictability in peers’ online time. Furthermore, maintaining data consistency is also an essential focus in order to deliver reliable application to the end user. The report describes the design and implementation of JabRef P2P, the centralized peer to peer model plug-in of JabRef. The mechanism to replicate the data, maintain data consistency, and data transfer will be elaborated in the later part of this report.
