Abstract: Fiber gratings are currently showing its considerable potential as passive components in optical fiber communication system. A fiber grating can be designed as a light filter, an Erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) gain equalizer, dispersion compensators and critical component used in all-optical switch, which are widely used in wavelength division multiplexing communication system.
