Abstract: A postponement strategy aims to delay some supply chain activities until customer demand is revealed, this enables a company to respond more quickly to market demand while lowering inventory costs. Yet despite these great benefits, relatively few have pursued this strategy. This project will study how to utilize RFID data or real time information to form postponement strategies in the context of Supply Chain Management, and analyze impacts of postponement on the performance of a supply chain.
