Title: Perching aircraft mechanisms
Authors: Chock, Wee Boon.
Keywords: DRNTU::Engineering::Aeronautical engineering::Aircraft
Issue Date: 2010
Abstract: The objective of this report is an investigative analysis on perching mechanisms. The report details the design approach of the aircraft prototype, modified to be suitable for perching analysis, and the manufacturing process of the aircraft. Preliminary flight tests are conducted on the use of elevator deflection for the flaring approach. The flight test results are evaluated and compared against existing perching research and gives a deeper understanding of the use of elevator deflections to improve perching maneuvers for conventional aircraft.
