Abstract: Optical colour monitoring is essential in many medicine and biology-related applications where absorption/transmission in the visible range is studied. It is thus important to realize and employ good colour detectors which can correctly quantify in measurable units the optical and chromatic changes that appear in the transmission/absorption of the analyzed sample. Other important applications include food or textile dye characterization, high-density information storage and electro-photographic copying of documents.
