Abstract: On-site measurement of partial discharge is normally implemented by installing capacitor coupler to the power apparatus under study. This incurs a troublesome implementation process which requires un-desirable shut-down of the power apparatus. In recent years, non-intrusive partial discharge measurement techniques are being developed quickly, which mainly include electrical and acoustic approaches. Though non-intrusive measurement technique enjoys easiness of implementation, it does not necessary means that time is saved in measuring Partial Discharge. A useful program that allowed user to faster acquire and also analyze signals is needed to save time and cost while providing increased accuracy. In this project, a LabVIEW program was developed to acquire and analyze signals received from a non-intrusive partial discharge sensor. The reference partial discharge source to be used was generated by a laboratory based corona generator.
