Title: | Stress concentration on advance composites | Authors: | Ang, Boon Hao | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Materials::Mechanical strength of materials | Issue Date: | 2010 | Abstract: | Stress analysis has been conducted on composite plates with holes under applied tensile loading using boundary element method. The effects of parametric variation on fiber orientations with different number of holes have been investigated on three different materials; Boron Epoxy, Kevlar-49 Epoxy and HMS Carbon Epoxy. Location of maximum stress concentration in composite plates with single hole and double hole was compared. It was observed that the presence of an additional hole alters the location of maximum stress concentration of the main hole. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/40593 | Schools: | School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
