Abstract: The wireless field is heating up and this technology holds promises of becoming the nextgeneration communication and application platform and Radio Frequency Spectrum is heavily tapped on to fuel this field. Thus, this creates a need to monitor the usage of the RF Spectrum using the Spectrum Monitoring System (SMS). This report focuses on designing a Detailed System Architecture for the Monitoring Station and Control Station of the SMS, and how the design is formulated. This report also document the process of researching, designing, developing results and testing results of a RF Switch Unit (consisting of RF Switch Matrix and RF Switch Controller) that is used at the Monitoring Station.
