Abstract: There is a strong demand in renewable energy and hence nowadays more and more projects are implementing renewable energy technologies in their project, for example solar energy. Solar panel has been used for generating free solar energy and solar cell is one of the most promising clean energy sources. Many companies of the industries are focusing on high efficiency solar cells which can generate electricity at higher efficiencies with the most cost efficient technologies. Therefore there is a need to improve the efficiency of solar panel in order to product the maximum clean energy with the minimum cost. Today nano structure has been widely investigated to improve its efficiency. In this project, it is proposed to develop nano structures on silicon wafer. With the control of the etch timing as well as reactive ion etching time, it can have various size and length of nano-wires.
