Title: | Low cost smart home entertainment system (windows embedded) | Authors: | Tan, Wei Zhi. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering::Home entertainment systems | Issue Date: | 2010 | Abstract: | The project is on the development of a Low-Cost Smart Home Entertainment System using a Windows embedded operating system. The featured operating system will be Windows Embedded Standard 2009 deployed on an Intel Pentium D system which will simulate the low cost embedded hardware. Windows Embedded Standard is chosen as the operating system because of its advantages such as compatibility with existing standard Windows application, it being a componentized operating system based on Windows XP professional and also the added support for the latest Windows feature like Windows Media Player 11. The report will cover the technical aspect of creating a deployable runtime image, using the application provided by the development studio. A research on the possible hardware that is suitable for the project is also available in the report. A conclusion that the project is feasible is also drawn through the completion of a working prototype with recommendation of future development. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/40918 | Schools: | School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
