The feasibility of inhibition effect of control-released rapamycin from biodegradable polymer matrices on human smooth muscle cells and in vivo neointimal hyperplasia was investigated in this study. Results obtained enable us to understand more of the impact of rapamycin on smooth muscle cells and on in vivo restenosis for future modifications of rapamycin release profiles.
