Issue Date: 2010
Abstract: In this FYP (final year project) report, the author will analyze a typical tennis game in video form with the help of MATLAB software. Two methods have been developed and compared for the efficiency and accuracy. The main process is first to indentify the players’ positions using morphological image processing in each frame of the video, and then track the movement of the players. The edges and corners of the tennis court will also be identified using Hough Transform to compensate the camera movement. This is then followed by geometric transformations to correct the keystone distortion due to the camera to obtain a meaningful set of data indicating the players’ actual positional data with respect to the tennis court.
