dc.description.abstractThis thesis presents the research work on filtering and control for two-dimensional (2-D) discrete systems. We first establish several versions of 2-D Bounded Real Lemma in terms of solution of certain Riccati inequality or equation. Based on the derived Bounded Real Lemma, we consider the H8 filtering problem of 2-D discrete systems described by the Roesser model. 2-D .H8 filters of both an observer-based structure and a general state equation form are investigated. The solutions are obtained in terms of algebraic Riccati inequalities (ARIs) or linear matrix inequalities (LMIs).en_US
