Issue Date: 1998
Abstract: Information on library automation systems is available in a number of publications such as directories, updates on current commercial library software, professional periodicals, electronic sources in the cyberspace, and distinguished library science literature. Despite the wealth of information on library automation systems, information on comprehensive functional and performance evaluation of library automation systems still seems lacking, particularly, in the context of local libraries' needs. There is a need for information on performance of library system with details at levels of sub-functions and features. Such information is important during system acquisition and after its installation so as to maximise the effective usage of system functionalities.
