Abstract: In this thesis certain fundamentals concerning the sol-gel processing of ferroelectrics are reported. Both the crystallization and the surface morphology of the sol-gel derived and Er : BaTiO3 thin films have been studied. In addition, electrical and optical properties of these films have also been investigated by using different techniques.
