Abstract: The present study examined the ability of the CBCL, the TRF and the SDQ in effectively discriminating between children diagnosed with ADHD and children diagnosed with other disorders in 312 children aged between 5 and 17 years in Singapore. The narrow-band Attention Problems scale of the CBCL, the narrow-band Attention Problems scale of the TRF, and the Hyperactivity subscale of the SDQ have all been associated with ADHD or ADHD symptomatology. However, few studies have been done to examine the ability of these scales in predicting the diagnoses of ADHD in children. The results of the present study suggested that these three scales/subscales do successfully differentiate between children diagnosed with ADHD and children diagnosed with other disorders.
