Abstract: I have never agreed with people who abuse animals since I was young. When I came across a lot of animal abuse cases in news reports, I feel the significance of raising public awareness on this issue. Study by Singapore Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) (2010) has shown that although number of pet ownership increases each year, the number of abandonment increases too. Those that are abandoned are mostly dogs and the consequences of abandonment have never been simple. Once the animals become strays, there is countless harm out there that could happen to them anytime. Therefore, it is essential for public to understand the importance of responsible pet ownership and the significance of understanding how each of their contributions actually helps to make changes.
