Title: | Play : an exploratory study into professional football in Singapore. | Authors: | Md Azim Azman. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Social sciences::Recreation | Issue Date: | 2011 | Abstract: | The game of football is played throughout the world with an intense fervour and enthusiasm. This paper focused not on the social phenomena surrounding football but on the players who play the game for a living. It looks at how these players struggle to answer issues regarding their agency in a team based game. It proposes that the “stance” of a player allows him to “dovetail” his goals with that of the larger structure (that of his team).
