dc.description.abstract | Storage Area Network (SAN) has been adopted in today data centers as it facilitates easier management of different kinds of data storage devices. The protocol of choice for SAN is the Fibre Channel protocol (FCP) and many protocols such as Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) have been standardized to encapsulate FCP packets over Ethernet Packet. This will allow convergence in the hardware needed in data centers today. The purpose of this project is to evaluate the design and the performance of the layer-2 multipathing scheme for data center Ethernet. After evaluation, additional new features are designed and integrated into the multipathing scheme in order to further improve the efficiency of the network. | en_US |
