Title: Multi-touch interaction for 3D visualization
Authors: Teo, Kenrick Jun Wei.
Keywords: DRNTU::Engineering::Computer science and engineering
Issue Date: 2011
Abstract: 3D visualization can also be used for abstract data. Scientific research has proven that human can distinguish patterns from vast data when given the correct visualization. However, it is often difficult to create a realistic visualization. This notion motivated the author to create a 3D Data Visualization application. Primarily, the application will be used to visualize Earth’s spatial phenomenon, particularly earthquake activity. The developed 3D Visualization application will incorporate multi-touch capabilities to leverage on the new technology. Multi-touch gained popularity in many technology devices in the recent years as it provides the users with a more natural way to interact with computers. Packed with multi-touch gestures such as pan, zoom, rotate and tilt, the application will allow the user to navigate in the most intuitive way.
