Abstract: As the use of DVR (digital video recorder) is introduced widely, the effectiveness of TV commercials has decreased since the audiences can simply skip over the TV ads when viewing the pre-recorded programs. The fact damages the commercial interest of TV program productions when the advertising information is no longer delivered within the population. The TV-ad auto placement system targets mainly on solving the problem for digital TV providers and program producers. With the assistance of the Tobii X120 Eye Tracker® which catches the eyeball movement data from the viewers, the Automatic-Ads-Adjusting (later AAA) system displays an enhanced advertisement at the best position on the screen. Its purpose is to raise the users’ attention and to deliver most commercial information while not disturbing the viewers from watching the original program.
