Title: | Fragments. | Authors: | Wong, Jing Wei. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Visual arts and music::Photography | Issue Date: | 2011 | Abstract: | This project is a personal exploratory journey of my relationship with the crowd. I had always not felt comfortable in crowds or around strangers. There is tension and a sense of disconnection in me in crowded places. I am very self-consciousness and it stems from me feeling not being the ideal individual by society’s preferences. However, I have the strong need to feel accepted and struggle to feel belonged. In crowds, I found my desirable qualities, envy and happiness. I wish to be like them. Hence, this project is about the expression of the love-hate relationship dilemmas I have with the crowd. I wished to be accepted but I am afraid to reach out. The project was an expression to break through this conflict. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/44474 | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
