Title: | Anode materials for fluoride ion battery(FIB) | Authors: | Koh, Weijie. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Materials | Issue Date: | 2011 | Abstract: | Fluoride Ion Battery (FIB) was developed to replace Lithium Ion Battery (LIB). This was due to the formation of metallic Lithium that implicates significant safety concerns in LIB. Using of Fluoride ions in the electrochemical cell was able to entirely enhance safety and stability as compare to LIB. Adding metal element to the anode (LaF3) was able to increase the performance of the electrochemical cell due to the increase in conductivity. The metal elements used were Calcium, Lead and Zinc. Performance of test cells was evaluated by battery discharge, in which cell voltages were compared. 4-probe measurement was used to determine the conductivity of the doped anode materials and a relationship was established between the conductivity and performance (Specific Capacity) of the electrochemical cell. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/44611 | Schools: | School of Materials Science and Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
