Abstract: Fillers are particles that are smaller than 0.075 mm. It helps to form asphalt-filler mastic and fills up the voids within the Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) mix. It has a significant effect on macro mechanical performance despite its small amount present in HMA mix. As the aggregate structure of W3B mix is seen as more porous, a finely-graded W3D1 mix was developed using Bailey’s method. This study builds on the newly created W3D1 mix and aims to compare the influence of hydrated lime, kaolin and granite fillers on both W3D1 and W3B mixes. In all, six HMA mix designs were produced. The resilient modulus performance was analysed. Other than fillers, the difference in binder content and gradations were the factors that also affected the stiffness of HMA mix. The type of fillers did not seem to have a significant effect on the performance.
