Abstract: A crack or fracture is a type of defect on material. When a load is applied to a structure with a crack, plastic deformation will occurs at the tip of the crack. This caused the tip to stretch open up before failure takes place. CTOD is used to measures the resistance of a material to the propagation of a crack. Different types of structures have different effect on the stress and strain distribution. Finite Element Method is used to obtain the required results for this project.
