Issue Date: 2011
Abstract: NTU Satellite Research center initiates the Nano-‐satellite project in 2009 to develop a pico and Nano-‐satellite pair known as VELOX-‐I. Since then, many FYP, URECA and DIP students have been involved in the conceptualization, design and prototyping of various subsystems of the nanosatellite. This project is part of the Attitude Determination and Control System (ADCS) development work. The project involves in the development of a satellite attitude simulator to facilitate the development of the ADCS. The simulator provides a GUI for input the testing specifications. The simulation result base on various environment and system models will be displayed in a 3D animation video. The simulation of sensor data will also be included in the simulator, and the result will be used to test the attitude determination algorithm in the future ADCS projects. Three substantial attitude control strategies, namely PID, BDOT, and MPC, have been implemented in the simulator for test and tuning.
