Abstract: Over the past few years, there have been sudden outbreaks of new diseases such as SARS in 2003, which came as a surprise to everyone. Since viruses spread very rapidly, thus, fast and early detection of these new virus strands is therefore crucial. The role of biosensor is to provide an appropriate platform to facilitate the formation of probe-target complex such that the binding of the target to the probe will trigger and generate recognition signal for readout.[1] Biosensors based on electrochemistry technique has been widely used due to several benefits such as high sensitivity, selectivity, simplicity, lower instrumentation cost, small dimension, ease-of-use, fast detection, label-free, reliability and accuracy.[1-3] Electrochemical-based sensor works on the principle of electrochemistry, in which a change in electrical signal will be produced upon probe-target interaction/binding.
