Abstract: As a young nation, the development of Singapore depends on many things. One of them being literature; for in literature we are able to discover different perspectives of Singapore. More specifically, we encounter this in poetry. How does local poetry contribute to the building of Singapore and the Singaporean identity? As I discuss examine the imagery, content and context of the poems, my photographs provide another perspective of this country, and the two mediums come together to create the meaning of the I in S[]ngapore.
