dc.description.abstract | This project aims to accurately model the electromagnetic (EM) interactions in a closed environment. The objective is to characterize the channel at 3GHz and 5GHz radio frequencies (RF) for very-high-data-rate short range communications in a complex aircraft fuselage. In this case, a metal shield room will be used to simulate the aircraft body and aid in the investigations of the electromagnetic interactions in a closed environment. The project incorporates a propagation measurement campaign that was performed in a metal shield room, located at A*STAR, Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R). The measurement comprises of a fixed transmitter positioned at the center of the room and a receiver being moved across 15 different positions in the metal shield room. For the measurement of each position, the Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) will be utilized to measure and record the received power. The process of parameters extractions will be performed on these data measurements using a MATLAB program to extract the path loss and delay spread components for the channel characterization. Finally, analysis will be carried out on the extracted parameters to provide useful information regarding the electromagnetic interaction in a closed environment shield room. | en_US |
