Title: | LabVIEW programming for the control of a light system | Authors: | Choo, Shirley Xue Ling. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering::Control and instrumentation::Control engineering | Issue Date: | 2011 | Abstract: | QCL is a distinctive and unique semiconductor laser diode as it is unipolar which only requires electron to operate. In addition, QCL outstands from other traditional laser is the working principle. Conventional laser diode electrons and holes will be eradicated after recombining across the band gap and they no longer contribute to the generation of photon. However, for Quantum Cascade Laser, despite after an electron has experience an intersubband transition and emitted a photon in the process period of the superlattice, another photon can be emitted by proceeding through the next period of structure. In addition, in recent year, QCL had achieved a breakthrough of emitting more light than heat. Hence, for this project, QCL is utilized for the LabVIEW simulation files. The main purpose the project is to implement a software control system which is capable of driving a light source. This project will first investigate the introduction of LabVIEW and Quantum Cascade Laser, followed by the explanation of the simulation VI files and lastly the challenges encountered. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/45970 | Schools: | School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
