Abstract: According to [5] most handover algorithm use the received signal strength power as the link quality measurement for handover decision. However one of the drawbacks of using received signal strength is the inability to distinguish between carrier strength and interference strength. In this project we will evaluate the performance of the received signal strength based handover with the addition of handover parameter like handover margin and time-to trigger window. Apart from that another handover algorithm which base on the Signal to Interference Ratio strength will be simulated and compare with the conventional received signal strength.
