Issue Date: 2011
Abstract: In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), tongue color diagnosis is a well-established practice and method used by practitioners. It is used for clinical diagnosis, and is essential to understanding an individual's well-being and health. Digital equipment has been developed and integrated into this practice. This study, therefore, refines the methods and equipment used for this practice of tongue color diagnosis. This is achieved through the development of software to attain better tongue color images, and the development of hardware design, to provide the most effective method of photographing the tongue color of the patient. The project also utilizes tongue color models and clustering methods to enable a better understanding of the tongue color data collected.
