Abstract: A highly enantioselectve L-thiaprolnie-catalysed a-aminoxylation of aldehydes in the presence of water and tertrabutylammonium bromide followed by in situ reduction to afford the respective a-aminoxy alcohols in good to high yields and excellent enantioselectivities was first developed.
