Issue Date: 2011
Abstract: E-commerce Web Portal provides a virtual environment that allows consumers to buy and sell products or services over the internet. In addition, it also includes developing, marketing, selling, delivering, servicing and payment for products and services. e-Shop Mall, a web portal that this project aims to develop, is able to crawl products’ information offer by other vendors and allows consumers to compare products via this web portal. On top of the fundamental functions offered by most e-commerce web portals, it also proposes a list of value-added features to give it a competitive edge. This report focuses on the various developmental stages of the e-Shop Mall. It includes the developmental considerations and the concepts of the e-Shop Mall based on the findings from one round of literature review. Besides the conceptual draft, it also discusses the business ideas behind the value-added features proposed. The report also covers the architectural design and the implementation of the e-Shop Mall‘s prototype, and ends with suggestions for future development.
