Title: Tribological wear behavior of titanium alloy in simulated bio-fluids for Ti-to-Ti hip-joint replacement
Authors: Oen, Hui Qin
Keywords: DRNTU::Engineering
Issue Date: 2011
Abstract: Although major improvements have been achieved in the design of hip-joint replacement, the main issue that remains is the excessive wear of sliding surfaces especially if titanium alloys are used. With an expected service life of around 25 years on most devices, with younger patients undergoing hip-joint replacement, it is of great importance to understand the mechanisms of their functions.
