Issue Date: 2011
Abstract: Muriel Spark continually challenges our pre-conceived notions about clothes and our role in the fashion system. The writer destabilizes the existing and established ideas about the way we view and use fashion. In fact, Spark's novels have clearly illustrated that the sexual power of fashion is no real power at all. Going a step further, this paper will at greater length review the intrigues of a group of characters that many fail to invesitage.
