Abstract: Subsea production system is the robust system designed to extract oil and gas from the seabed. Control system of high complexity is implemented to govern the operation of the production system and to monitor the condition of the oil field in order to ensure that the system is operated safely. Due to depletion in shallow water oil deposits, the industry players are moving to higher water depth resources. This not only imposed great challenge in the system design but also increased to cost in manufacturing key equipments such as the umbilical system in order to withstand higher pressure rating. Hence, the next logical step would be moving most of the equipment down to the seabed level including the power generation system.
