Abstract: Recently, low-dimensional chaos-based secure communication systems have attracted a great deal of attention. One of the special interests is in the use of chaotic dynamics for information coding. Chaotic information encryption or chaotic cryptography is a relatively new subject with encryption/decryption methods and standards still under development. In this thesis, the author studies the problems of chaotic synchronization, security enhancement and the design and applications of chaos-based cryptosystems.
