Customising computer-aided design using macros and languages for engineering application

Abstract

Although more than 35 organisations of the local construction industry have been using CAD systems since 1987, they express difficulty in exploiting CAD systems to their fullest potential. The "potential" cited by the engineers are ability to tailor the CAD system to their companies' standards; ability to customise commands to understand project-specific design and drafting rules and integrating CAD system to other packages, etc.
