Abstract: A two-stage dynamic model was developed to describe the biological growth kinetics of an activated sludge system under non-steady state condition. This model is based on the assumption that there is an intermediate growth before the soluble substrate is finally metabolized into new cells. The proposed theory is capable of describing the interactions between process parameters like COD, MLVS , OUR and DO.
