dc.description.abstractThis report describes several spreadsheet programs successfully developed by using the popular spreadsheet software Lotus 1-2-3 to solve partial differential equations of different types. They include the method of characteristics and the Lax-Wendroff method for the one-dimensional hyperbolic wave equations, the Gauss-Seidel method and the successive over-relaxation method for the three-dimensional elliptic Laplace equation.en_US
