Abstract: There is no effective tools and machines available to cut tree branch and harvest tree fruits such as oil palm with a height up to or more than four metres. In order to overcome this problem, a special cutter drived by hydraulic power was developed. A series of investigations were carried out to find an optimum shape of knife blades and its operating mechanisms.
