Title: Service parameterization, benchmarking and prototyping of full motion video transport over high speed networks
Authors: Das, Amitabha
Keywords: DRNTU::Engineering::Computer science and engineering
Issue Date: 1997
Abstract: Modern high-speed digital networks such as Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) and Gigabit LAN/MAN has opened up new possibilities in the realm of high bandwidth real-time network services. But because of the integration of different types of data traffic in a single network a plethora of new issues need to be addressed adequately before a satisfactory performance can be obtained from the networks. In this project we have focused our attention on services involving transfer of video streams such as video-on-demand and video-conferencing. The issues addressed are those related to improved service quality with better utilization of network resources.
