Abstract: This project focuses on understanding of the knowledge of methods to locate the positions of sensor nodes in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) and the usage of simulation software MATLAB. Over the years, researchers developed several methods to estimate locations of sensor nodes in exact coordinates. However, those techniques are normally complicated. Based on that, we focus on studying and implementing a simple localization method which is based on range-free localization. The output of our proposed method is a grid-based estimated region rather than exact coordinates.
