Abstract: Increasing demand of realistic viewing pleasure calls for advanced 3D reconstruction methodologies for visualizing images, videos, graphics data in 3D. In this dissertation, recovery of depth information by the stereo vision methodology is the focus of this study. Stereo matching, which is prevalently considered as an ill-posed problem in stereo vision, is investigated in this dissertation.
